Liam Sparkes
Over the last couple of days in college Ive been working in the printroom, indirectly inhaling all sorts of orrible stuff like ammonia, white spirit, alcohol and this yellow gouey stuff that gives you a good-bad hit. Despite it leaving me mildly sedated every afternoon, I have been thoroughly enjoying etching and printing.
The other day I came across the work of Liam Sparkes who is an illustrator, turned tattoo artist, who creates some of the most tasteful and unique tattoos ive seen. Maybe if my mother stops believing that tats are for criminals I will ask him to do one on me. Until then Im going to try etch some punicorns in his style.
Im also getting a couple of rolls developed soon so come back soon.

Question Time
If you didn't catch it, what on Earth were you doing?
I have to admit, I was really nervous that he would play the Bankers' bonuses or MP expenses card and win a few people over... I gave him too much credit! Griffin was a bumbling, nervous wreck who continuosly backtracked, insisted he was misquoted and then changed his mind, and attributed his change of views on the Holocaust to radio intercepts - in turn completely disregarding Auschwitz...wtf!!! And he just kept creasing! Oh, did anyone else notice his lips pouting too? Freak!
I don't remember Chris Huhne saying much. Bonnie Greer tried to be all patronising and shit but was just really annoyingly American. Baroness Warsi was pompous and her views on homosexuality obviously mirrored Griffin's own. Jack Straw is just shit but gave me jokes when he promised - as Justice Minister - that Nick Griffin could fully explain his views on the Holocaust without fear of punishment (apparently it's illegal in the EU). I guess with a panel like that we are just lucky that Nick Griffin made a complete tit of himself without anyone else's help!
I wish Dimbleby was my Dad! He's hard.

Bon Appetit
Please take 5 minutes out of your day to enjoy this endearing Short from the very ambitious and talented Stella Corradi...
Inspired by 'Amelie' director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, it stars Stella's beautiful grandmother Wilma Aris ( a 50's Italian actress). Oh and check the credits at the end... I love this!
Big things to come... Remember the name!

Suck on Ken.
Today I went to the Barbican, didnt like the exhibition much, but snapped a couple out. After being told that Accro is dead, I am going to post at least 1 photo a day from now on.

Plan B is back
After the tragic fire in May leading to one of London's premium venues being out of action for the last 6 months there has been a huge amount of work going on to make it one of the best clubs around when it rises like a phoenix from the ashes in 2 weeks.
Kate Moross has been doing the branding as well as the interior and Simian Mobile Disco's lighting designer David Cohen is setting up some very exiting visuals. A huge Funktion 1 Soundsystem is going in place and a stack of London's best promoters bringing the hottest acts to your(my) doorstep.
Today we had Matt from BNTL come down and shoot the building work in progress and some of the people behind the scenes who will be making it all happen.

The Gang
Here are some of the acts playing in the next couple of weeks

Jocks and Nerds
Just got a heads up on a new online mens style magazine curated by the brilliant photographer and stylist Marcus Ross, the site is set to go fully operational in the next couple of weeks.
"Containing exclusive fashion shoots, beautiful photography and video interviews, Jocks&Nerds will be bringing you some of the most exciting sartorial news from around the world. Alongside this wonderful imagery, our team of expert writers will be connecting the dots from street culture to style and from history to fashion, as well as sauntering down the twin paths of functional design and obsessive attention to detail."
At the moment there are a some interesting articles and some very beautiful images so check the site here
thanks G
